Call for Proposals
Due: March 25, 2019, 11:59 PM
Mission: The Texas State Galleries FLEX space invites Texas State Art and Design students, faculty, staff or alumni to propose dynamic exhibition programming for Fall 2019. The FLEX provides an opportunity for these individuals to envision and assemble well-considered, visually engaging, and conceptually stimulating programming. In so doing, the FLEX hosts exhibitions and events that highlight the unique creative vision of students, alumni, faculty, and staff in ways that augment the educational experience for students, and link them to the TXST Art and Design community and to the larger art world.
Types of Programming:
Solo or group exhibitions
Screenings or performances
Lectures, panels, or roundtables
All TXST School of Art and Design students, alumni, faculty, and staff are eligible to apply. Student-submitted proposals require a faculty sponsor from the School of Art and Design and are responsible for confirming the faculty member’s support.
The faculty committee that reviews these proposals may request additional materials before making final decisions. These materials may include but are not limited to: a revised program description, a more complete and detailed list of participants, an exhibition checklist, artist statements and resumes, precise budget, and timeline. Selected individuals will be contacted, at which time details regarding the execution of proposed programing will be discussed and agreed upon. Organizers selected will be responsible for installation and de-installation, under the supervision of the Gallery staff. Selected applicants are also responsible for all proposed expenses—no funding is available from the Texas State Galleries or the School of Art and Design to underwrite proposed programming.
